Latitude Smartphone Connection Fault
Summary of the thread
A 2011 Renault Latitude diesel is experiencing a smartphone connection issue, with the system restricting functions and an error memory showing a fault. Possible causes include a pairing issue or an electrical fault in the infotainment system. Suggested solutions involve checking for software updates, re-establishing the connection, and conducting a diagnostic check at a workshop, which ultimately resolved the problem by correcting an incorrect pairing.

Thanks for the tips! I checked the phone software – it's up-to-date. I did try deleting and re-pairing, still no luck. I'm not sure about infotainment revisions... How would I even check that?

Given that you've tried the basic troubleshooting steps, and the error memory is showing a fault, it's likely a deeper issue than just a simple pairing problem. Could be an electrical fault in the infotainment system itself. I'd recommend a diagnostic check at a reputable workshop. These Renaults can be tricky with their electrical systems.

Alright, I appreciate the advice. I took it to a shop and they found an incorrect pairing. Cost me 45€ to get it sorted! Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

Sounds like a pairing issue. Do you have the latest software version on your phone? Have you tried deleting the existing pairing from both the car and your phone, and then re-establishing the connection? Has the car's infotainment system had any recent software revisions recently?
