Leaf High Voltage System Error

I'm getting a high-voltage system error message on my 2010 Nissan Leaf (electric). The engine shuts off sometimes, and power is reduced. It has 110994 km. I suspect a bad battery or wiring issue. Any ideas?

Whoa, that sounds rough. I had something similar happen with my old BMW i3. Different car, but the symptoms were eerily alike. I was getting weird electrical errors, and then BAM, power loss! It was terrifying, especially on the highway. Did you notice any specific conditions when it happens, like after charging, or during heavy acceleration? The battery is a prime suspect, but don't rule out funky wiring. I was pulling my hair out trying to figure it out!

Thanks for sharing your BMW i3 experience. The error seems to occur randomly. There's no obvious link to charging or acceleration. What was the eventual cause in your case with the BMW?

Ugh, 'randomly' is the worst. For my i3, it turned out to be a faulty battery module messing with the whole system. But honestly, diagnosing it was a pain! I'd strongly suggest taking it to a qualified workshop with experience in EVs. High-voltage systems are nothing to mess with yourself. They'll have the proper diagnostic tools to pinpoint the exact problem.

Understood. Thanks for confirming my suspicions and for recommending a qualified workshop. I will proceed accordingly. The repair cost ended up being 290€.
