Leaf passenger seat power issue

My 2016 Nissan Leaf, all-electric, with 226297 km, has a weird issue with the passenger power seat adjustment; it has completely stopped working. My diagnostic tool throws an error code related to the seat motor. I've checked the fuses, and they seem fine. Could it be a faulty seat switch or something more sinister like a dead spot in the motor itself? Has anyone encountered anything similar? I suspect the battery is heavily discharged or even defective, which I believe could be related.

I have a Leaf too, it's the same build year and engine type as yours, and I experienced a comparable problem not too long ago. The symptoms you describe strongly mirror what I went through with my own car. I remember the error memory was also showing some sort of error in my case. Can you confirm if the error code is related to low voltage?

Interesting! Yes, the error code does seem to point towards a low voltage situation, something about the seat motor not receiving enough power. Did yours also completely stop working, or was it intermittent? Did you manage to fix it yourself, or did you end up taking it to a workshop? I am wondering if checking the seat switch would do any good.

Yes, in my case, the seat adjustment was completely unresponsive. Given that the error code clearly indicates a low voltage situation, and considering that you have already checked the fuses, I would suggest visiting a workshop to have them properly diagnose the electrical system, especially the battery condition. It's possible that a module is faulty. Don't keep on trying to adjust the seat, as you risk damaging the motor. In the end I took it to the dealership.

Thanks a lot for the info! I appreciate you confirming that it might be battery related. I'll take your advice and book it in at the workshop. The car is back from the garage and the passenger seat is working again. They said that the battery was heavily discharged and defective, and was causing issues with the power supply to the seat. The final repair cost was 290€
