Leaf Tail Lights Issue

I've got a 2011 Nissan Leaf, all-electric, with about 83000 km. Recently, the tail lights switch on by themselves, even when the car is off. I scanned for errors, and there's a fault stored related to the light switch. I suspect it might be a dodgy connection, but I'm not sure where to start looking. Any ideas?

Oh wow, that sounds eerily familiar! I have a Leaf too, and I had a similar gremlin with my lights a while back. Were you messing with the dimmer switch at all before this started? For me the interior lights and dashboard illumination were all over the place!

Interesting! No, I haven't touched the dimmer switch recently. When your tail lights were playing up, did you notice anything else acting weird? Like the headlights, or maybe the interior lights?

Now that you mention the tail lights...yes, it did occur! Now, I'm no expert, so the best course of action would be to take it to a trusted workshop. The diagnostic itself shouldn't cost too much, and they'll pinpoint the cable or plug connection that's causing the mayhem.

Thanks for the advice! I took it to a local garage, and they found a loose connection in the light switch wiring, just like you suggested. Cost me about 95€ to get it sorted, but at least the lights are behaving now!
