Lexus ES Rain Light Sensor Fault

I have a 2006 Lexus ES with a gasoline engine and 42186 km on the clock. I'm experiencing a fault with the rain-light sensor. The error memory has stored an error, the automatic wiping mode during rain is not working, there's no automatic headlight control, the speedometer dimming function is inactive and the lights are stuck on. Any ideas?

I had a similar issue with my ES. Is your light sensor also affected? Does the auto sensor work at all?

Yes, the error was stored. The automatic headlight control didn't work as intended. I'd suggest taking it to a workshop to get it checked. Seems like bubbles under the gel pad on the windshield is the most likely cause.

Thanks for the advice. Indeed, it was the gel pad! Bubbles had formed underneath. Repair cost me 62€.
