Lexus ES rough idle and stalling
Summary of the thread
A 2019 Lexus ES is experiencing rough idling, stalling, and jerking during acceleration, with the check engine light on. The problem is suspected to be fuel-related, possibly involving the fuel pressure sensor. It is suggested to inspect the sensor's cable and plug connections, as a defective connection could cause these issues. Ultimately, the issue was confirmed to be the fuel pressure sensor cable, which was repaired, resolving the problem.

Fuel pressure sensor, eh? Where exactly IS that thing hiding? Is it something I can check myself without needing, like, a PhD in engine stuff?

It's usually located on the fuel rail. While you could visually inspect the cable and plug, testing the sensor requires specialized tools. Given the symptoms and mileage, and the chance of misdiagnosis, taking it to a workshop is probably the safest bet. They can pinpoint the problem and give you a proper diagnosis.

Thanks a bunch! Turns out it WAS the fuel pressure sensor cable, just like you said. 95€ later and she's purring like a kitten again. You saved me a ton of guesswork!

Sounds like it could be a fuel delivery issue. The symptoms you describe are consistent with that. Have you checked the fuel pressure sensor? A defective cable or plug connection there could cause those problems. What mileage are you at? Fuel pump issues can become more common around 193064 km, though a sensor issue is more likely given the symptoms.
