Lexus GS Lean Running Issue

I'm pulling my hair out here. I've got a 2006 Lexus GS 450h, the hybrid version, with 134013 km on the clock. Recently, it's started running incredibly lean, with reduced engine power. The check engine light is on, it has a rough idle, and noticeable jerkiness when accelerating. I've already checked the spark plugs, cleaned the intake manifold, and gone over the mass air flow sensor. My gut is telling me it's a dodgy injection valve or injector. Anyone else experienced this?

Whoa, sounds familiar! I have a GS too. I had almost the exact same symptoms last year – check engine light, rough running, the whole shebang. Did you happen to notice if your fuel consumption went up at all when this started?

Good question! Now that you mention it, I think it has gone up a bit. I was so focused on the other symptoms, I didn't really pay too much attention to the air-fuel ratio. What was the culprit in your case? Was it actually the injectors?

Yep, injectors were the problem! I tried a couple of things myself but eventually had to bite the bullet and take it to a workshop. They ran some diagnostics and confirmed it pretty quickly. Honestly, save yourself the headache and get it checked out properly. Could save you money in the long run, and you'll be back on the road faster!

Thanks for confirming my suspicions! I appreciate the advice. Looks like I'll be booking it into the workshop this week. Turns out it was indeed a defective fuel injector. Total repair cost was 515€ including parts and labor. Runs like a dream now!
