Lexus GX Antenna Keyless Entry Issue

My 2014 Lexus GX with a gasoline engine is acting up. It has about 190928 km on it. The main issue seems to be the bumper antenna. I'm getting an error, the keyless entry is dead, and I can't start the engine without the key in the ignition! I suspect a bad cable or plug around the antenna mount. Anyone seen this before?

Cable or connector issues are common. Have you checked the antenna base for corrosion? Also, confirm the antenna cable's continuity. Any aftermarket electronics installed recently?

Good call on the corrosion. I'll check that. Where should I look for corrosion on the antenna mount and which connector pins should I check? And no, no aftermarket electronics installed.

If there are no obvious visual defects, it's most likely the connection itself. Based on the symptoms, a defective antenna may be the issue. Given the complexity with the starting issue, you might want to get it checked at a shop.

Yeah, that's what I figured. I took it to a local shop, and you were spot on it was a defective cable. Replaced the antenna cable harness and got it sorted for 95€. Thanks for the pointers!
