Lexus GX check engine light air valve

I've got a 2023 Lexus GX Hybrid with about 186k km on it. Recently, the check engine light keeps popping on. I've scanned the code and it seems to point towards an air valve issue. I've checked the air supply and vacuum hoses, but can't find any obvious leaks. Any ideas where to look next?

I had a similar problem with my 2016 Volvo XC90 a while back. Same symptoms, check engine light related to the air system. In my case, it turned out to be a defective hose connection from the pump to the air valve. I would start by checking those vacuum hoses, focusing on any cracks or loose connections, especially the ones going to the throttle body.

Thanks for the tip! When you say defective hose connection, do you mean the hose itself was cracked, or was it more of a problem with how it was attached to the air valve or pump?

In my Volvo, the hose itself had a tiny split right where it connected to the pump. It was hard to see at first, but that small vacuum leak was enough to trigger the check engine light. Given the age of your GX and the mileage, I'd suggest having a workshop pressure test the whole air system to be sure.

Appreciate the advice! Took it to the shop, and you were spot on – a small crack in the hose connecting the pump to the air valve. New hose and labour came out to 175€. Check engine light is now gone. Thanks again!
