By connections, do you mean like the plugs and wiring harnesses? Was it obvious when you found the defective cable, or did you need special tools to diagnose it?

Yes, I mean the plugs and wiring harnesses. In my case, it was obvious after a short visual inspection. But I would take it to a workshop and have it checked professionally if I were you.

Just to let you know, I took it to the shop, and you were spot on! It was indeed a defective cable or plug connection in the injection system. The repair cost me about 95€. Thanks a lot for the help!

I also drive a GX, though I'm not sure of the year right now, and I experienced almost the same problems. I would start by inspecting all the connections to the injection system, because these symptoms sound like the engine isn't getting fuel properly, and in my case it turned out to be a simple defective cable.
