Lexus GX Fuel Pump Symptoms

I'm having a strange problem with my 2019 Lexus GX gasoline. It has 222634 km on it. It acts like the fuel pump is failing: won't start, stalls, check engine light, rough running, and drinking gas. The error memory has related errors too. I checked the electrical connections before replacing the pump. Has anyone had similar issues, or have any ideas about Lexus GX fuel pump problems?

Sounds like a fuel delivery problem. I had something similar in my old Outback, sputtering and stalling. First, are you absolutely sure about the cables and plugs? I mean, really sure? Did you check for voltage at the pump when the key is on? If no juice, you're chasing wiring, relays, or even the ECU, not the pump itself.

Thanks for the quick reply. I used a multimeter to check voltage at the fuel pump connector with the ignition on. There was voltage, but it wasn't totally stable. Could a bad connection cause these symptoms, even with some voltage?

An unstable voltage reading is a big clue. I've seen corroded terminals cause similar headaches. But honestly, with those symptoms and that kind of mileage, the pump itself could be weak and drawing too much current, causing the voltage fluctuations. You're going to be throwing parts at it, best off to take it to a qualified shop.

I appreciate the input. I took it to a good workshop. It turned out to be a faulty connector, with an intermittent connection. The repair cost 95€. You were right about it being an electrical issue.
