Lexus GX Power Windows Fail After Battery Replacement

Help! My 2003 Lexus GX with a gasoline engine is driving me nuts! I had to replace the battery, and now the power windows won't work at all. Error memory has some issue stored too. Anyone else had this happen after a battery swap?

Yeah, I've seen that on other models. Sounds like the window regulator needs to be initialized again. Did you try the window reset procedure? Sometimes you need to hold the window switch up for a few seconds after it's fully closed.

Window reset procedure? Never heard of it. Is that something I can do myself, or do I need special tools? Where can I find that procedure for the door panel?

It's usually pretty straightforward, but can be model-specific. Some need the dealer tool. Check your owner's manual first. If that doesn't work, could be the window regulator itself, but I'd get it checked by a workshop before you start tearing apart the door panel.

Thanks! Took it to the workshop, and they confirmed it needed initializing. Cost me 290€, but at least the windows work now!
