That's interesting. No, the speedometer seems to be working fine. But could a dodgy ABS module still cause these symptoms even if the speedometer reading is normal on the dashboard?

Yes, definitely. On the Volvo, the speedometer was fine too, but the ABS module was sending garbage data. The workshop identified it pretty quickly. Get it scanned, it will likely point to a faulty ABS control unit. My repair bill was a bit steep, so brace yourself.

Thanks for the advice! I took it to a workshop, and you were spot on – it was indeed the ABS control unit. Quoted 1000€ for the repair. Appreciate the help in narrowing down the problem!

Wow, that sounds frustrating. I had a similar issue with my old Volvo V60. ABS light, traction control going nuts... turned out to be a faulty ABS module messing with the speed input to the ECM. Is your speedometer acting erratically as well?
