Lexus IS Brake Light Failure

I'm experiencing an issue with my 2016 Lexus IS hybrid. An error message popped up, and I discovered that my brake lights aren't working. The bulbs seem fine, but the error memory shows a fault related to the braking system. Has anyone encountered a similar problem? Could it be a faulty brake light switch?

I also drive an IS. I had something similar happen last year. Check the brake light switch; it's a common problem. Does the error come back right after you clear it?

Thanks! Yes, the error message reappears almost immediately after clearing it. Where is the brake light switch located? Could I replace it myself with basic tools, or is it best left to a professional?

Sounds like it's the switch for sure then. It's located near the brake pedal. While it might seem straightforward, I'd recommend taking it to a workshop. Messing with the braking system can be risky.

Okay, I appreciate the advice! I'll schedule an appointment to have the brake light switch replaced. Some wires of the switch were not properly connected, so the technician just reconnected them. Luckily the repair cost was 0€. Thank you again for your help!
