Lexus IS hybrid fuel consumption issue

Hey, I'm having a weird issue with my 2017 Lexus IS hybrid. It's got about 176,740 km on the clock. Lately, I've noticed my fuel consumption has gone up, and the car struggles to start sometimes. I suspect it might be a defective throttle valve or even the accelerator pedal module itself. Anyone experienced similar issues?

Interesting. I had a somewhat comparable thing happen in my IS. Noticed the same fuel consumption spike. Did you try cleaning the throttle body or checking the control valve for any gunk? That sometimes fixes it. Does it feel sluggish when you accelerate?

I haven't tried cleaning the throttle body yet, but I did check the engine throttle for any obvious signs of damage, which seemed fine. I haven't checked the control valve. When you say 'comparable', was it the exact same symptoms? And how did you fix it? Trying to gauge if I can fix it by myself, or if I need to go to the workshop.

Yeah, sluggish starts and higher fuel use, plus it felt like the engine throttle was a bit off. Honestly, after fiddling around for a bit, I just took it to a workshop, and they sorted it. Probably best to get it checked out, as it could be something else entirely.

Thanks for the advice! I took it to the workshop, and it turned out to be a defective accelerator pedal module, as suspected. Cost me 205€ to replace. Appreciate the help!
