Lexus LC Airbag Warning Light

I own a 2021 Lexus LC hybrid with about 64921 km. The airbag warning light came on, and a scan showed a rollover sensor malfunction. Could a defective control unit be the cause? Has anyone else seen this?

I've heard of sensor failures causing similar airbag warnings. Have you checked the wiring and connections to the rollover sensor control unit for damage or corrosion? It might be a simple connectivity problem before you suspect the unit itself.

Thanks, I visually inspected the wiring harness and connectors, and didn't see any obvious damage. Is there a specific diagnostic procedure you'd recommend to further isolate the problem before replacing the control unit?

Given you've checked the wiring, and the error code points to a rollover sensor malfunction, the control unit is probably faulty. I'd recommend a workshop check. I bet the repair bill will be near 1000€.

Understood. I appreciate your input. I'll schedule an appointment with a qualified technician to diagnose and replace the rollover sensor control unit. I hope the price isn't too high.
