Lexus LC Coolant Loss

I've got a 2019 Lexus LC with a gasoline engine and about 200k km on the clock. Recently, the check engine light popped on, and the error memory is showing a low coolant level. I've checked, and it's low. No obvious leaks, and the engine isn't overheating, but I'm concerned. Could this be a coolant leak somewhere sneaky, or maybe a faulty radiator cap?

I had a similar issue with my LC. I remember topping off the coolant every few weeks. No visible leaks, which was weird. Have you checked around the water pump? Sometimes they weep before they fully fail.

Interesting. I haven't specifically checked the water pump area yet. When you say 'weep,' do you mean a tiny bit of coolant residue? Was it hard to spot? I'm trying to avoid a costly trip to the workshop if it's something I can handle myself.

Exactly, just a little bit of residue. It was tricky to spot, because it would evaporate from the engine heat. If you're not seeing anything obvious, I'd say it's worth getting it pressure tested. You can buy a kit or just take it to a shop.

I took your suggestion and booked it in for a pressure test. Turns out, there was a minor leak in one of the hoses. They replaced the hose, topped up the coolant, and the total came to 52€. Hopefully, that's the end of it!
