Lexus LC Knock Sensor Defect
Summary of the thread
A 2021 Lexus LC owner reported issues with the check engine light, increased fuel consumption, and uneven engine idling, traced to a defective knock sensor. The problem could stem from a simple bad connection or a defective cable. Cleaning the sensor's connections might offer temporary relief, but a workshop visit confirmed a defective cable as the cause, which was resolved with a reasonable repair cost.
Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Yes, I have experienced a slight stutter when accelerating uphill. You mention cleaning the connections... did that solve the problem for you? I'm trying to avoid a huge repair bill if I can. Could it really be a simple fix?

Cleaning the connections didn't completely solve it, but it did improve things temporarily. Honestly, given the symptoms and the mileage, and considering you already know where the problem lies, I would book an appointment with a trusted workshop. In my case, a defective cable was the cause and after replacing it, my car was good to go

I appreciate the advice! I've booked it into a workshop. Turns out it was indeed a defective cable, just as suspected! Repair cost was 95€, very reasonable. Thanks again!

I also have a Lexus LC, though I'm not sure about the year right now. A similar thing happened to me a while back – check engine light and all. Is your car's performance particularly poor when accelerating? If so, it could be related. I'd check the sensor's cable and plug connection as a first step, maybe even try cleaning them.
