Lexus LFA Fuel Flap Issue

Hey, I've got a head-scratcher with my 2011 Lexus LFA (gas engine). It's got about 176k on the clock. The fuel flap release isn't working. I'm getting an error message, and I just can't open the thing to refuel! Some other systems seem to be acting up too. Any ideas?

Whoa, that sounds familiar! I had a similar issue with my LFA a while back. Is it completely dead, or does it sometimes work? Did you check the release button itself? Can you hear the fuel filler flap actuator clicking when you press the release?

Thanks for the quick reply! Yeah, it's totally dead, doesn't work at all. I did check the release button. Doesn't seem to do anything. I don't hear any clicking either, so I'm guessing the actuator is shot?

Yep, sounds exactly like what happened to mine. Ended up being a defective linkage. I wouldn’t mess with it, it’s more complicated than you think. I would just take it to a reputable workshop. They'll diagnose it properly and get you sorted. Probably a faulty cable or something similar.

Okay, that's what I was afraid of. I'll book it in with a garage then and see what they say. It turns out it was the linkage, like you suspected. Cost me 210€ all in. Thanks for your help!
