Lexus LS engine stalls and fuel sensor error

My 2001 Lexus LS with a gasoline engine has an intermittent check engine light and occasional engine stalls at idle. Diagnostic scans show a fuel level sensor error. Could a defective fuse be the problem, or are there other potential causes? Mileage is 163538 km.

I had a similar problem with my LS. Check engine light and stalling issues can be a real pain. Have you noticed any weird readings on your fuel gauge, or have you ever had the fuel pump changed out? It might be worth checking those.

The fuel gauge readings appear normal. The fuel pump is still the original factory unit. Is there something about the fuel pump's operation that might relate to the fuel level sensor error?

The fuel pump itself might be okay, but a failing fuel level sensor within the tank can definitely cause those symptoms. I would recommend a trusted workshop to have it diagnosed.

Based on your recommendations, I'll get a comprehensive diagnostic evaluation at a reputable workshop. Replacing the sensor addressed the problem, costing 52€.
