Lexus LX Automatic Temperature Control Issue

Hi, I have a 2005 Lexus LX with a gasoline engine. The automatic temperature control no longer works, and I get an error stored in the memory. Also, the air conditioning system does not switch on. Could it be the interior temperature sensor? I've checked some connections, but no luck so far.

I had a similar issue with my LX. Is the temperature reading completely off, or just erratic? It might be the sensor itself, but those symptoms do point to a potential wiring issue too. Have you checked the plug connection?

Thanks for the quick response. The temperature reading seems stuck, not changing at all. Where exactly is the plug connection you're referring to? Is it easily accessible?

On mine, the plug was near the sensor behind the dash. Given the static reading and your troubleshooting so far, I'd advise getting it checked at a workshop. A defective cable or plug connection seems probable, but it's tricky to diagnose without proper tools.

Okay, thanks a lot for the advice! I took it to a workshop, and you were right – it was a defective plug connection to the temperature sensor. Cost me 95€ to fix. Appreciate the help!
