Lexus LX Camshaft Sensor Issue

Alright Lexus LX gurus, need some insight! My 2019 LX diesel is acting up. Starts like crap, feels like I'm towing a house, and threw an error code. Camshaft sensor, they say. Suspect it's just a dodgy connection. Anyone seen this before?

Sounds familiar! Had similar grief with my old Volvo V70 – rough idling and power loss. Was also a camshaft position sensor issue. Did you check the wiring and connectors? Those automotive sensors can be really sensitive.

Volvo, huh? Interesting. So, when you say "check the wiring," are we talking visual inspection, or should I be digging out the multimeter? Any specific areas that gave you trouble?

Yeah, with the Volvo the plastic connector on the sensor itself was cracked and letting in moisture. Visual check first, then wiggle it a bit while the engine's running (carefully!). If that does not solve it, get to a workshop. Don't want to damage anything. It might be beyond my capabilities anyway...

Thanks! Turns out you were spot on – cracked connector. Sorted the connection, but no luck. Bit the bullet and replaced the sensor (95€). Runs like a dream again!
