Lexus LX cold start issue
Summary of the thread
A 2021 Lexus LX with a diesel engine is experiencing poor engine performance during cold starts, increased fuel consumption, and an error code. The issue is suspected to be a defective electric auxiliary heater (PTC). A similar case confirmed the PTC heater as the cause, and replacing it resolved the problem.

Yes, the check engine light is on. Did you also get an error code related to the HVAC system? What was the fix?

Yep, same here. It was the PTC heater. I'd advise getting it checked out at a workshop, as the electrics can be tricky.

Thanks for the info! I took it to the shop, and indeed, the PTC heater was faulty. They replaced it for 350€. Everything seems fine now.

I had a similar problem with my LX. Hard starts when it was cold and the MPG dropped. Is the check engine light on?
