Lexus LX Generator Failure

Regarding the serpentine belt, it visually appears intact, but I haven't assessed its tension. As for the battery, its resting voltage seems normal, but a load test has not been performed. Could a compromised serpentine belt or a battery exhibiting subtle degradation precipitate such generator-specific error codes?

A slipping serpentine belt could starve the generator, and a marginally weak battery can place undue stress on it. However, the generator-specific error code suggests the generator itself is the primary culprit. Think of it as a domino effect. Given the diagnostic code and range of symptoms, consulting with a qualified workshop would be prudent.

Your diagnosis was astute. Following your recommendation, I consulted a workshop. The generator was indeed defective, necessitating replacement. The repair cost amounted to 960€. Thank you for your guidance and helpful insights.

Those symptoms certainly point to a charging system problem. Weak lights, poor starting, and reduced power are classic signs. Have you checked the serpentine belt for slippage or damage? Is the battery holding a charge when tested independently? It is like having a faulty heart, everything else suffers!
