Lexus LX Lights Switch On By Themselves
Summary of the thread
A 2010 Lexus LX owner experienced an issue where the lights would switch on by themselves, accompanied by a stored error code. The problem was suspected to be caused by a defective cable or plug connection. Initial suggestions included checking the fuse box for blown fuses and considering the headlight switch as a potential cause. Ultimately, a workshop identified and replaced a defective connector, resolving the issue.

Thanks for the tip. I will check it. If the fuses are alright, could the headlight switch itself be the problem?

If the fuses are fine, then yes, the switch itself could very well be the culprit, or perhaps a short circuit. Given the stored error code, it's probably best to get it checked by a qualified workshop.

Thanks for the advice! I took it to a workshop and you were right. It was indeed a defective connector. They replaced the connector and the light switch works fine now. The repair cost was 95€.

It's possible. Faulty headlight switch operation and stored error codes suggest an electrical issue. Have you checked the fuse box for any blown fuses related to the tail lights or headlight switch? That would be a first step.
