Lexus LX low tire pressure and steering issues

I'm experiencing an issue with my 2018 Lexus LX diesel. I'm getting a low tire pressure warning, but all tires appear visually fine. It now has 95567 km on the clock. Furthermore, the ABS lamp lights up, the steering wheel vibrates/shakes and it needs increased effort when steering, like the power steering has failed. I checked the tire pressure with a tire gauge, and they seem within the normal range. Could this be a punctured tire causing a slow pressure loss, or perhaps a faulty tire sensor?

Whoa, that sounds familiar! I have an LX too. Had something similar happen last year. The low tire pressure light was on, and the steering felt off. It was like trying to wrestle an alligator! Did you check the tire valve itself? That little bugger can be the culprit.

Interesting! I didn't specifically check the valve, just the pressure. Is that a common issue with the LX? How did you eventually diagnose that was the problem?

Well, it's not like an epidemic, but it happens. A defective valve can cause all sorts of weirdness, messing with the pressure and consequently the steering. It can cause the tire to deflate slowly. I ended up taking mine to a workshop. They found a tiny leak in the valve. If you have the same issue, expect around 280€ repair cost

Thanks for the insight! I'll definitely check the valve more closely, and probably take it in to be safe. Appreciate you sharing your experience!
