Lexus NX AC Compressor Shut Off

Hi, I'm having a weird issue with my 2021 Lexus NX gasoline. The A/C compressor seems to have shut off. The air conditioning system doesn't switch on, and no cold air is coming out. The mileage is at 49533 km. I checked for any obvious issues, but couldn't find anything. I even hooked it up to a scanner and it showed an error in the error memory, but I couldn't decipher the code. Has anyone experienced this?

Hey! I had a similar problem with my NX. The A/C suddenly stopped cooling, and it turned out to be a pain. First, have you checked the basics like the relay switch for the A/C compressor? Also, is there any chance you have a refrigerant leak? A low refrigerant level can cause the pressure switch to shut down the compressor to prevent damage. It might also be the HVAC system control module acting up. Do you hear any unusual noises when you try to turn on the A/C?

Thanks for the quick reply! I haven't checked the relay switch yet, but I'll definitely look into that. I didn't notice any obvious signs of a refrigerant leak, but I guess it could be small. Where exactly is the pressure switch located? And by unusual noises, what do you mean specifically? Like a hissing sound or something else?

Okay, so the pressure switch is usually near the condenser, but honestly, finding it can be tricky without a proper diagram. As for the noises, yeah, a hissing sound would indicate a leak, but I was also thinking of a clicking sound from a faulty compressor or a whirring sound if something's jammed. Given that you have an error code stored and you're not super familiar with the system (no offense!), I'd seriously consider taking it to a workshop. It could save you a lot of time and potential headaches. My problem was similar and got fixed there.

Thanks a lot for the advice! I appreciate it. I took it to the workshop as you suggested, and it turned out to be undervoltage in the vehicle, causing the A/C compressor to shut off. They replaced a faulty sensor and cleared the error codes. Cost me around 240€, but at least it's fixed!
