Lexus NX Electrical Issues
Summary of the thread
A 2019 Lexus NX hybrid is experiencing intermittent electrical issues, including sporadic error messages, random warning lights, and erratic behavior of the audio and navigation systems. The problem may be due to a defective cable connection affecting the communication network, specifically the BUS system. A professional diagnostic scan is recommended to identify and resolve the issue, which was ultimately traced to a loose connection and repaired at a workshop.

Thanks for the quick reply! No accidents or recent repairs that I know of. I bought it used about a year ago. Is there any way to check these cable connections myself, or is it something that really needs a professional diagnostic scan?

Given the complexity of the Lexus NX's electrical system, a comprehensive diagnostic scan using specialized equipment is recommended. While visual inspection of accessible cable connections might reveal obvious damage, the intermittent nature of the fault suggests a more subtle issue. A workshop will be able to properly diagnose it. Expect to pay around 155€ for the repair.

Thank you! I appreciate the advice. It sounds like I'm in over my head, so I'll take it to a reputable workshop for a proper diagnostic. I'll post what the problem is, in case it helps someone else. It turns out you were spot on, it was a loose connection and the workshop fixed it for around the price you estimated. Thanks!

Based on the symptoms you describe – sporadic errors, system failures, and stored error codes – it suggests a potential issue with the communication network. A defective cable connection to a control unit, specifically affecting the BUS system, is a plausible explanation. Has the vehicle been involved in any collisions or undergone any recent repairs that might have disturbed the wiring harness?
