Lexus NX Jerking Acceleration

I own a 2014 Lexus NX hybrid with 232435 km. Lately, the check engine light comes on, and the car jerks when accelerating. I also hear a whistling noise and a loud hissing when accelerating. Sometimes, the engine stalls at idle, and fuel consumption seems higher, with reduced engine power. Could this be a bad boost pressure sensor, possibly due to a defective cable or plug connection?

That sounds rough! I had similar issues with my old Opel Astra after some mileage. Check engine light, jerking, hissing – it was the turbo system. Have you checked for any obvious boost leaks in the air intake? Just a thought.

Boost leaks in the air intake? Is that easy to check myself, or does it require special tools?

Well, on my Astra, some hoses had come loose. You can visually inspect them, but honestly, if you're not sure, I'd take it to a workshop. Could be a bad boost sensor too, of course. Best get it checked out properly before it gets worse!

Thank you for the advice. It was indeed the boost pressure sensor; the cable was defective. Repair cost was 95€. Resolved now.
