Lexus NX MAF Sensor Symptoms

Hi, I'm having trouble with my 2017 Lexus NX hybrid with 191434 km on it. I think the mass air flow meter might be defective. I'm experiencing higher fuel consumption, the engine stalls at idle sometimes, the check engine light is on, and there's some smoke when I accelerate. Does this sound like a MAF sensor issue?

Hey! I drive a Lexus NX too. I had similar symptoms a while back: engine stalling and the check engine light kept popping up. Have you checked your air filter recently? A dirty filter can sometimes mess with the MAF sensor and cause performance decline.

Thanks for the tip! I'll check the air filter. Did changing your air filter fix the issue completely, or did you have to do something else with the MAF sensor? I am not sure if the filter is the root cause.

For me, changing the air filter didn't completely solve it. The symptoms lessened a bit, but the problem persisted. I ended up taking it to a workshop, and they confirmed it was indeed the MAF sensor. Cost me around 365€ to get it replaced. So, while checking the filter is a good start, you might still have a faulty sensor.
