Lexus NX Transfer Case Limp Mode

I'm experiencing an issue with my 2020 Lexus NX hybrid, which has 138980 km on it. The vehicle has entered transfer case limp mode. The gearbox seems to slip, with shifts feeling unclean. Could this be related to potential faults within the ABS system, causing consequential issues? Are others experiencing similar problems with their NX models? I have not identified relevant fault codes.

Hey there! I've got an NX too, and what you're describing sounds eerily familiar. I had a similar issue pop up a while back. Was your traction control light acting up around the same time? Have you noticed anything odd with the gear selector or the torque converter before this limp mode kicked in?

That's interesting you mention the traction control light. It has flickered intermittently, but I didn't think much of it. Also, nothing seemed amiss with the gear selector, but is there something specific I should have been looking for? Could the ABS system really be the culprit, leading to all these drivetrain issues?

Yeah, the traction control thing is a red flag, I think. Honestly, I'm no mechanic, but after doing some digging, it seems like a faulty ABS module can wreak havoc with the whole system, putting your NX into limp mode. Considering you've got symptoms pointing towards potential transmission damage, I'd recommend getting it to a workshop pronto. Better safe than sorry, right?

Thank you for the advice. It does appear a deeper inspection is necessary. As it turns out, the repair was covered under an extended warranty program due to a known manufacturing defect related to the ABS system. Cost was 0€.
