Lexus RC AC Compressor Failure

Hey, I'm having a terrible time with my 2018 Lexus RC with a gasoline engine. The A/C compressor seems to have given up! The air conditioning system just doesn't switch on, and it's blowing hot air. I scanned it and there's an error code. Could this be an undervoltage issue? The car has 225063 km on it. I'm hoping it's not a massive job to fix!

I have an RC too, and had something similar happen last summer. Was it gradual, or did it just suddenly stop working? Have you checked the A/C pressure sensor or the belt tensioner? It could also be a refrigerant leak. The pressure sensor is a common failure point, apparently.

Thanks for the quick reply! It pretty much stopped suddenly; one day it was fine, the next, nothing. How much did it set you back when you had that fixed? Also, where is the A/C pressure sensor located?

Mine did the same thing - just quit. I didn't mess around with it myself; I took it straight to a workshop. They checked it over and refilled the refrigerant after a pressure test, found the leak and replaced the faulty sensor. I would suggest to do the same. You can check the pressure sensor yourself, but I would not recommend it.

Okay, thanks for the advice! I took it to my local mechanic and it turned out to be a faulty pressure sensor and low refrigerant, just like you suspected. The final bill came to 240€. I appreciate the help!
