Lexus RC Brake Booster Pressure Error
Summary of the thread
A 2023 Lexus RC owner experienced a brake booster pressure error and poor braking performance, with an error stored in the vehicle's memory. The issue was likely linked to the brake system, specifically a failing brake booster pressure sensor. This problem may have been caused by an improper brake bleeding procedure, which can introduce air into the system and affect sensor readings. The recommended solution was to consult a qualified workshop for diagnosis and sensor replacement, which resolved the issue and restored normal braking performance.

Yes, I recently had the brakes bled. Could an incorrect brake bleeding procedure actually cause the pressure sensor to fail?

An improper bleeding procedure can introduce air into the system, potentially leading to erratic brake booster pressure readings and sensor malfunction due to overcompensation. The brake system's hydraulic components are sensitive. I advise consulting a qualified workshop for diagnosis and possible replacement of the pressure sensor. Given the symptoms and recent brake work, it's a probable cause.

Thanks for the information. I took it to a workshop, and you were right. It was the brake booster pressure sensor, likely damaged during the bleeding process. The replacement cost me 90€, and the braking performance is back to normal.

Indeed it could. A failing brake booster pressure sensor often presents with the symptoms you describe. Have you recently had any work done on the brake system, particularly any bleeding of the hydraulic circuits?
