Lexus RC Camshaft Sensor Faulty Connection

The error code was P0340. I didn't see any obvious damage, but it's in a tight spot. Is there a way to test the sensor connection with a multimeter?

Ah, P0340, indicating a camshaft position sensor 'A' circuit malfunction. While a multimeter could be used to assess the continuity of the wiring, bear in mind that automotive electrics can be notoriously temperamental. Given the potential for misdiagnosis and the potential for damaging sensitive components through improper testing, I highly recommend taking your RC to a qualified Lexus technician. The repair, including parts and labor, will likely be in the vicinity of 95€. Trust me, expert diagnostics are well worth the investment here.

Thanks for the advice! I took it to a workshop, and you were spot on. It was indeed a faulty connection at the camshaft sensor. They cleaned and secured it, and everything is running smoothly now.

A defective camshaft sensor in a Lexus RC hybrid? It's plausible that a faulty cable or plug connection could indeed be the source. However, before jumping to conclusions, have you inspected the sensor itself for any visible damage or corrosion? Furthermore, what specific error code did you retrieve? Knowing the precise code can provide valuable insight into the nature and location of the fault.
