Engine light is on, but no stalling or surging experienced recently. Cable connections seem ok. What exactly do you mean by 'engine software'?

Right, so the light is on. 'Engine software' refers to the ECU's internal programming. Sometimes, glitches can occur, especially with fluctuating voltage. Although you checked the cable connections, a bad ground can cause a similar issue. Given the engine light and these symptoms, I would suggest a proper diagnostic check with a scan tool. A workshop visit is probably unavoidable to accurately pinpoint the fault.

Thanks for the info. It was indeed the battery cable connections at fault. Cleaning them fixed the issue. Repair cost was 155€.

Hey there. A 'no start' on a Lexus RC that new, with a mileage of 135980 km points towards electrical issues for sure. But engine control malfunction can be a broad issue. Have you checked the engine light? Any recent engine stalling or surging? Even seemingly unrelated electronic issues can trigger this, as modern ECUs are highly sensitive. I’d also consider looking at the engine software.
