Lexus RX key fob battery issue

My 2009 Lexus RX with a gasoline engine is throwing a 'key battery low' warning. Keyless access is dead, there's an error in the system memory, and locking/unlocking is a total crapshoot. Mileage is at 226271 km. Anyone else wrestling with this?
