Lexus UX Engine Smoke
Summary of the thread
A 2023 Lexus UX with nearly 190,000 km is experiencing engine issues, including a check engine light, reduced power, and smoke when accelerating. The problem is suspected to be emissions-related. A suggestion was made to check the crankcase ventilation valve, a component of the emissions system, which can cause such symptoms if faulty. The issue was confirmed and resolved by replacing the valve, restoring the vehicle's performance.

Thanks for the tip! I'm not super familiar with car stuff. Where exactly is that valve located, and is it something I could check myself, or am I better off taking it to a mechanic? As for the smoke, it's hard to tell the exact color, but I'd say it's leaning more towards white-ish.

Based on the symptoms, and that fact that the smoke is more white, my experience suggests it's probably the crankcase ventilation is defective. Unless you are very confident, I'd advise going to a workshop. It's a pretty critical component for the engine's health. I spent around 360€ getting mine replaced, all in.

I took it to the shop, and you nailed it it was the crankcase ventilation valve. Cost me about 360€ to get it fixed. Runs like new now! Thanks again for the help!

I had something similar happen on my UX. Check your crankcase ventilation valve. It’s part of the emissions system and if it fails, it can cause all sorts of problems. It's like a clogged artery for your engine. Is the smoke bluish or more blackish?
