Lexus UX Gearbox Clunky Slipping

Okay, so I have a 2022 Lexus UX, electric, and I'm freaking out a bit. It's got 181802 km on it. I've noticed the gearbox feels super clunky lately, like it's slipping or not shifting right. I'm worried it might be the transfer case oil, or maybe even something worse like gear wear? Anyone else had this happen? I'm not a car expert so any advice would be great!

I had a similar issue with my Volvo XC60 a few years back. The symptoms you describe point towards a potential issue with the transfer case. When was the last time you checked or changed the transfer case oil?

Transfer case oil change? I honestly didn't even know that was a thing! I've only ever done the regular maintenance stuff that the dealership recommends. Is it a big deal to change it, and could that really be the cause of the gearbox issues?

In my case, the worn gears in the transfer case caused the slipping. Given the mileage and symptoms, I recommend taking your UX to a qualified workshop for inspection. They can assess the oil condition and check for any signs of gear damage.

Thanks, that's really helpful! Took it to the shop and they confirmed it: defective gears in the transfer case, and it looks like I'm out 330€ for the repair. Appreciate the advice, at least I know what was up!
