Lexus UX Overvoltage Errors

My 2023 Lexus UX hybrid is throwing me for a loop. Getting constant overvoltage errors, tons of fault memory entries, systems are failing left and right. Even getting a weak start sometimes, like the battery is dragging. It's got 95767 km on the clock. Anyone seen this before?

Sounds familiar. Had similar electrical gremlins with my old 2018 BMW 530e. Constant voltage spikes, modules throwing errors. Have you checked the battery's health and the alternator output? Overvoltage is a tricky beast.

Yeah, I hit it with the multimeter. Battery seems okay ish when it's running, but drops like a stone when the engine's off. Alternator is putting out voltage, but could the voltage regulator be hosed?

The voltage regulator could definitely be the culprit. In my case with the BMW, it was also the cause. But with your hybrid system, it gets more complex. If the battery is heavily discharged or defective, the car computer also logs many overvoltage errors, because it wants to charge the 12V battery constantly. I'd suggest getting it hooked up to a proper diagnostic tool at a workshop. Better safe than sorry with these complex systems.

Appreciate the insight! Turns out you were spot on. Took it to my trusted mechanic and it was indeed the battery. The overvoltage was a consequence of the car trying to compensate for it, which was causing a general electrical malfunction in the system. New battery set me back 290€ but everything seems to be running smoothly now. Thanks again!
