Lexus UX steering issue

Alright, Lexus heads, I'm pulling my hair out here. My 2023 Lexus UX, the electric model, is giving me grief. 149810 km on the clock. The steering feels like I'm wrestling an alligator – way too much effort, like the power steering took a vacation. And the steering wheel vibrates like crazy sometimes. I'm thinking it's the steering angle sensor packing it in. Maybe the coding got messed up? Anyone else run into this?

I also own a Lexus UX, and your symptoms do sound like a defective steering angle sensor. Was the steering column recently worked on, or any other automotive sensors replaced?

Nope, nothing's been touched recently. That's what's so strange. Just started happening out of the blue. Could it be anything else, or am I stuck with replacing the steering sensor?

Given the sudden onset and the symptoms described, it does appear the steering angle sensor is the most likely culprit. I recommend taking it to a qualified workshop for diagnosis and coding.

Appreciate the insight. Turns out you were spot on - steering angle sensor was faulty. Workshop re-coded it and all is well. Cost me 195€.
