LFA Boost Pressure Issue
Summary of the thread
The 2010 Lexus LFA is experiencing a boost pressure issue, characterized by a check engine light, reduced engine power, poor response, a whistling noise transitioning to a loud hissing during acceleration, occasional stalling at idle, and increased fuel consumption. The suspected cause is a defective electrical bypass valve. After considering other potential causes like a boost leak, pressure sensor, or turbo actuator issues, the problem was confirmed to be the defective bypass valve, which was repaired for 250€.

I haven't had a chance to check the pressure sensor directly. The whistling is more pronounced under load. Could a faulty actuator cause these symptoms? What readings should I expect from the pressure sensor if it's failing?

A faulty actuator definitely fits the symptoms. Without proper tools, diagnosing the pressure sensor accurately is tricky. Given the hissing and stalling, I'd recommend a workshop visit. They can properly check for boost leaks and actuator function.

Thanks for the insights. It turned out to be a defective electrical bypass valve as suspected. Repair cost was 250€. Appreciate the help!

Sounds like a boost leak. Have you checked the pressure sensor or turbo actuator? Could be a vacuum line issue. Is the whistling constant or only under load?
