LFA Camshaft Sensor Issue

I'm experiencing camshaft sensor issues with my 2010 Lexus LFA, gasoline engine. Mileage is at 190553 km. The symptoms include poor starts, reduced engine power, and a stored error code. I suspect a defective cable or plug connection. Has anyone encountered similar problems?

LFA here too. Sounds familiar. When mine threw similar codes and ran like it was missing a cylinder, I'd start by checking the sensor harness. Any visible damage or corrosion? Have you scoped the signal to confirm the sensor's actually flaking out, or are you just going off the code?

I haven't scoped the signal yet, just reading the code. Visually, the harness looks okay, but I haven't done a continuity test. Was your issue definitely the camshaft sensor, or something else mimicking those symptoms?

Yeah, turned out to be the camshaft position sensor connector itself. The pins were corroded internally. Cleaning helped temporarily, but I ended up replacing the connector. If you're not seeing anything obvious, I'd advise taking it to a shop to get it properly diagnosed before throwing parts at it.

Thanks for the insight. I checked the connector pins, and you were spot on – heavy corrosion. I've booked it in for a connector replacement; the estimated cost is around 95€. Appreciate the help!
