Linea Fog Sensor and AC Issue

Hey, need help! My 2012 Fiat Linea with a gasoline engine is throwing weird errors. It's got about 202147 km on the clock. The error memory keeps logging a fog sensor malfunction, so the A/C won't kick on. The windshield washer nozzles froze solid last week, and the mirror heating doesn't work. I'm thinking it might be a dodgy cable or plug near the sensor, but I'm not sure where to start. Anyone else run into this?

Summary of the thread

A 2012 Fiat Linea is experiencing issues with the A/C not functioning due to a fog sensor malfunction error. The problem is compounded by frozen windshield washer nozzles and non-working mirror heating, suggesting a potential electrical issue. The suspected cause is a faulty cable or connector near the sensor. The recommended solution is to visit a workshop for professional diagnosis and repair, including sensor recalibration.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

I have a Linea too, and I experienced something similar a while back: the A/C refusing to start and some weird sensor errors. Can you confirm if the error code specifically points to the fog sensor, or is it more generic?

Yep, the error code is definitely pointing to the fog sensor. I even tried clearing it, but it pops right back up after a short drive. Did your Linea have the same error code? And did those frozen spray nozzles and the mirror heating issue show up at the same time?

Yes, the error was also specifically related to the fog sensor. Given the other symptoms you describe, it is likely an electrical issue. I'd recommend a workshop visit and avoid doing anything yourself. The documentation regarding sensor calibration is sparse. A defective cable or connector will then be replaced, and the sensor is recalibrated. In my case, the cost was approximately 95€.

Thanks a bunch for the info! Sounds like I'm better off taking it to a shop. I was hoping to avoid it, but chasing down electrical gremlins without proper tools sounds like a nightmare. I'll let you know how it goes!
