Livina Steering Problem

Hi, I own a 2015 Nissan Livina with a gasoline engine. At 108540 km, my steering has become increasingly difficult and vibrates. I suspect the steering angle sensor is at fault, possibly due to faulty coding. Has anyone experienced something similar?

Hey there! I know that struggle. I had almost the exact same symptoms with my Livina. It felt like wrestling an alligator just to make a turn, and the shaking was like holding onto a washing machine during the spin cycle! It's likely that your steering angle sensor is indeed the culprit. Did it occur after any alignment or suspension work?

Thanks! I haven't had any alignment or suspension work done recently. Could you elaborate on your experience? Did replacing the sensor resolve the issue entirely, or were there other problems?

Replacing the sensor definitely fixed it for me. Think of it like this: the sensor is the brain telling the power steering what to do. If the brain is scrambled, the muscles (the steering) won't work right. The steering angle sensor itself was the issue. My final bill was around 195€. I'd suggest getting it checked out at a reputable workshop to confirm the diagnosis. Don't try to do it yourself unless you're really confident. Messing with steering components can be risky!

Thanks for the advice! I went to my mechanic, who confirmed the faulty coding of the steering angle sensor. The sensor was replaced, and the issue is now resolved! The final cost was around 195€. I am now enjoying smooth, vibration-free steering. Your help has saved me countless hours of frustration.
