Low Brake Fluid Peugeot 2008
Summary of the thread
A 2018 Peugeot 2008 with 140,751 km has low brake fluid and a strange brake pedal feel, potentially due to worn brakes. The issue could be caused by worn brake pads, leading to a drop in fluid level as caliper pistons extend. A comprehensive brake inspection is recommended to identify the cause, and replacing worn pads and changing the brake fluid can resolve the problem.

I haven't seen any leaks, and it's been a while since the pads were checked. If worn brakes are the problem, would a fluid replacement fix the low level, or is a full brake inspection better, maybe with new pads or rotors?

Topping off the fluid is a temporary fix. If the pads are worn, the fluid drops as the caliper pistons extend. I'd suggest a workshop inspect the whole brake system to find the cause.

Thanks for the insight. A comprehensive inspection was necessary and worn brakes were indeed the problem. The repair cost 480€. The brake fluid has been changed and new brake pads have been installed.

I had a similar issue with my 2008. Low brake fluid can affect pedal feel. Check for leaks around the master cylinder or calipers. When were the brake pads last inspected or replaced?
