M Klasse hybrid electrical gremlin
Summary of the thread
A 2011 Mercedes M Klasse hybrid is experiencing electrical malfunctions, including a dead navigation system and error messages. The mechanic suspects the control unit's programming may be implausible and suggests a software fix. Another owner with similar issues recommends checking the battery condition and terminals, as a weak battery can cause glitches. Ultimately, a software fix resolves the problem, restoring the navigation system and clearing error messages.

Thanks that's helpful They did mention the battery during the onboard diagnostics check but didn't seem too concerned Was your problem definitely a software issue or something else

It's tough to say definitively I think the weak battery was contributing but ultimately the control unit needed a reflash The shop I went to mentioned something about corrupted data I would say let them do the software fix it is a common problem But it might also be worth checking the battery terminals are clean and tight before that just to rule it out

I had similar issues with my M Klasse Not the hybrid version but the symptoms sound familiar The navigation cutting out and some random electrical quirks Did they check the battery condition Sometimes a weak battery can cause control module glitches
