M Klasse Turn Signal Issue

My 2004 Mercedes M Klasse with a Gasoline engine has a turn signal problem. I'm getting an error message on the speedometer and it's stored in the error memory. The lighting is definitely faulty. Could this be a simple lamp replacement or something more serious? Mileage is at 281255 km.

Sounds familiar! I had a similar electrical fault with my indicator light on my M Klasse too. Have you checked the flasher relay? That was my issue. If the relay is gone, it can cause all sorts of weirdness with the automotive lighting. Is the indicator light completely dead, or is it just blinking erratically?

How do I check the flasher relay? Where is it located, and what am I looking for?

Okay, so on mine, and it should be the same on yours, the relay is under the hood in the fuse box. The cover should have a diagram showing which relay is for the indicator light. Honestly, though, if you're not comfortable messing with electrical stuff, I'd suggest taking it to a workshop. I ended up doing that myself, and it saved me a massive headache.

Thanks, I appreciate the advice. I took it to a shop, and you were right, it was a defective cable or plug connection. They fixed it for 95€ All good now.
