Malfunction when starting the Benz GLE Class 2016: symptoms, causes and suggested solutions

Hey guys, need your help. I have a problem with my Benz GLE Class, built in 2016, petrol engine, around 139,194 km on the clock. The car won't start, battery weakens when starting, lights flicker or are dimmer and a warning light always appears in the speedometer. I have the feeling that it might have something to do with the message error. Went to my mechanic last time but was rather negative. Have any of you had similar problems? How did it go with your mechanic? Would love to hear your experiences. Thanks a lot!

I have a 2005 Mercedes CLK W209 220 CDI and the following situation has arisen: When replacing the handbrake, brakes and coupling rod, I forgot to switch off the ignition. We then tried to bypass the car with an Audi A5 3.0 TDI. The positive cable started to smoke, apparently it was defective. Since then, the parking lights and interior lighting have remained permanently switched on. In addition, the light switch and the windshield wipers no longer work, and the high beam and handbrake symbols light up in the instrument cluster. I have to disconnect the car battery every time to prevent it from draining. I bought a new battery, but the car still won't start. It only starts up to the ignition, after that nothing happens.

It sounds like the jump start may have caused an electrical surge that damaged some components. I would recommend checking the fuses first, as they are designed to blow in order to protect the rest of the electrical system. If the fuses are fine, then it's likely that the SAM control unit or the CAN-Bus system has been damaged and will need to be inspected by a professional.

It sounds like there might have been a short circuit when you tried to jump-start the car, which could have damaged the SAM control unit or the CAN-Bus system. I would recommend having a mechanic check the SAM control unit and the CAN-Bus system for any damage. This is a complex issue that requires professional diagnosis and repair.

It is also important to check the relays. These may also have been damaged by a power surge.

It's true, relays can also be affected by a power surge. However, given the complexity of the issues you're experiencing, I would still recommend having a professional mechanic perform a thorough inspection. They can check not only the relays, but also the SAM control unit, the CAN-Bus system, and other potential problem areas.

Good day! To provide a more accurate solution for the error B165100, could you please specify the brand, year, and model of your car? Many thanks!

Brief update on my car, I had to replace the SAM front module as the old one was faulty. The replacement went smoothly, but now the reversing light always stays on. When I put the car in reverse gear, it goes out. somehow the Carly adapter also shows no error message, do you have a Mercedes CLK 2005 220 cdi for me?
