Marea electric seat fault
Summary of the thread
A 2006 Fiat Marea's passenger electric seat became non-functional, with an error stored in the memory. The issue arose after the car's battery went completely flat and was jump-started. The problem was likely due to the sensitive nature of the car's electrics, which can be affected by a discharged or defective battery. A diagnostic check and recalibration of the seat control module at a workshop resolved the issue.

Interesting. The battery did go completely flat a few weeks back. I jump-started it, and it's been fine since, or so I thought. So, this seat issue is likely related?

Highly likely. The Marea's electrics are a bit sensitive. If jump-starting it didn't solve it, I'd suggest a proper diagnostic check at a workshop. Seems like you need to reset or recalibrate the seat control module. It cost me around 290€.

Thanks a lot for the insight! I took it to the workshop, and you were spot on. A diagnostic check and recalibration of the seat control module fixed it. The cost was indeed around 290€. Much appreciated!

Sounds familiar! I had a similar issue with my Marea. Was your battery recently flat or replaced? It can throw the seat electrics completely out of whack.
