MarkX Battery Draining

Hey, I'm having trouble with my 2006 Toyota Mark X (gasoline engine). It's got about 81150 km on it. Recently, the battery keeps draining. I'm getting an error message on the speedometer, the lights are weak and flickering, and my OBD reader shows a stored error. Starting the engine is becoming a struggle with a really weak battery. I checked the battery terminals and they seem clean. Any ideas what could be causing this? I'm thinking maybe a parasitic draw, but I'm not sure where to start looking.

I had something similar happen on my Mark X. Check the battery sensor. Those symptoms sound familiar.

The battery sensor? Where is that located, and what exactly went wrong with yours? Was it a complete failure, or just giving incorrect readings?

Yeah, the battery sensor. On mine, it was completely faulty, causing the car to mismanage the battery. I ended up taking it to a workshop, they replaced the sensor, and it fixed the issue. Probably best to get it checked professionally.

Thanks for the tip! I'll definitely have the battery sensor checked out by a mechanic. It sounds like that could very well be the culprit. The error codes I saw pointed to it. I had the battery sensor replaced, and the error is gone. With labor and parts, it came to 315€. Thanks again
